About Jeff Garton
Background
Jeff Garton is a career Human Resources professional
whose experience is with the Philip Morris Companies and includes
leadership of the global staffing functions for Miller Brewing and
Kraft Foods. He is the recipient of two SHRM/EMA Best in Class awards
for recruitment marketing and employer branding.
In 2001, after twenty three years inside corporate HR, Jeff decided to leave and start his own executive search and career coaching firm. Since 2006 he has focused exclusively in the area of coaching, training and speaking on the topic of career contentment. His clients have included corporations like S.C. Johnson, General Mills, Unilever, JohnsonDiversey, Kraft Foods, Home Depot, Elkay Manufacturing, Invensys Controls, First Choice Holidays, Fiskars Brands, Northwestern Mutual and ARAMARK.
Jeff is also a talk radio host on the VoiceAmerica.com Business Radio Network. His program, Career Contentment Radio is broadcast worldwide every Thursday afternoon at 12:00PM Pacific / 3:00PM Eastern. Interview guests on this program have included best selling authors, corporate executives and leading experts in career, coaching, medicine, psychiatry and psychology. Each program coaches listeners on the topic of career contentment.
In March 2008, the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) published Jeff’s first book titled, Career Contentment: Don’t Settle For Anything Less. Distribution is just getting started and reviewers are suggesting the topic “should birth a revolution in the workplace.” Jeff has also produced two series of guidebooks and audios for use by coaches and trainers: The Employment Mindset and Recognizing Career Contentment.
Jeff was born and raised in West Virginia where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Glenville State College, and a Masters in Organizational Communication and Public Personnel Administration from the University of New Mexico. He has focused his career on helping other to overcome their job dissatisfactions to achieve their highest purposes. He now resides on Chicago’s North Shore with his wife Heli, his two sons Brian and Michael, and his daughter Sarah lives and works in California.
